A Few Thoughts from the Owners  |  Zula Overview

Zula, a 7,500 square foot "white tablecloth" restaurant in the heart of downtown is located on Capitol Street between Fannin and Main, occupying the ground floor of the St. Germain loft condominiums.

Zula is a classic and contemporary shrine to innovative New American Cuisine. As America is a melting pot of cultures and tastes, so is the menu at Zula. Seasonal, fresh market ingredients are utilized throughout and are reflected in a constantly evolving menu. This fresh approach to menu planning allows Zula chefs to create cross-cultural delights, inspired by flavors from around the world.

Zula was designed with Houston's social and business habits in mind. Houstonians love to dine with friends and colleagues, and love to see and be seen. In planning Zula, we have paid great attention in addressing these details. We have created a restaurant that really caters to groups of friends out for an evening to have a great time. Tables of 6 or more are just as important as intimate tables for two. Additionally, I believe that with almost 200,000 in the downtown workforce, people are tired of fighting traffic to the Galleria area. Downtown Houston is ready to fully support an upscale restaurant to host serious business lunches and dinners."

Zula is also visually different from any restaurant Houston has seen before. Zula is a split-level restaurant that seats approximately 120 downstairs in the dining room, and an additional 80 in a mezzanine dining balcony - all with fabulous views of each other. The balcony also provides for a Private Party event space becoming the ideal location for a seated or cocktail event. Zula also offers two bars adjacent to the Capitol Street entrance, on either side of the sweeping staircase that leads to the mezzanine.

Zula stocks an extraordinary list of over 150 fine wines to match any flavors the chef creates. The wine list celebrates the classics with a special strength in Traditional France and the hot new wineries of California.
